Earth Keepers Series
Recover the wisdom of the
lost peoples...
No more lost generations - Balance for Mother Earth -
Creating unity & equality for all of earth's peoples
This series has been inspired by the stirrings of the earth... that are apparent through the changes that the Earth Mother, turtle island, has been going through. This work is my desire to answer her calling, in the same way that Spirit Sojourns has... the guardianship that feels like its time has come.

We all come from ancient and primal roots... The ancient generations of the past - the ones that hear the far off drum - the earth's heartbeat - recognize the calling. The unity between our bodies and the earth's body. And, my answer is to stand as an earth keeper with others that are also bridges between the past and the future - between heaven and earth - between the indigenous peoples and those that are awakening to their forgotten promises of honoring the earth. That we can stand together around the sacred hoop, uniting all peoples of all races and become One for the Earth and peace.
Guardians that preserve and remember.
We have all watched as the indigenous guardians have been uprooted, dishonored and their spirituality diluted or outlawed by those that don't understand. Things have changed in the times leading up to this new millennium and green has been popularilzed... These are the times when it is apparent that we need to do more than talk green. It seems to me, that we have much to learn from those that have lived green for thousands of years. They are the natural teachers of the future for us. Our guides to finding harmony with our garden and ourselves...
So, I have begun to search out indigenous teachers that might share their teachings and ways of healing - for people and the earth, equally.
UPCOMING:
Grandmother Maka Nupa L Cota
November 5-9th 2010
...was born of the Bear Clan from her Father was Lakota and Bird Clan from her Mother of the Cherokee Nation. Maka Nupa is a direct descendent of seven generations of traditional healers. Much of her youth was spent living on cattle ranches in Western isolated communities.
The knowledge of the herbal and spiritual healing was passed down to her through generations of Grandmothers and Elders. As many Indigenous people do, she feels that it is time to share this wisdom with others who come to listen and learn. Maka Nupa has served as board member for the Tree Of Life foundation both here in America and in Holland.
She also has given many years to free law of Western New York in helping Native and non Natives receive legal representation. After living in Lily Dale, N. Y., where she often spoke and organized gatherings such as the Strawberry Moon for women, recently she returned to Maine where she continues to travel internationally, write, and speak. At this time she is working on her book of short stories about her early life in the West and will publish it this year.
The Stories are what hold the history of a people and Grandmother Maka Nupa has put them down in writing so that they will not be lost.
